I have been trying to play a dvd made with Pixplay.WMP10 plays the dvd but
with an overlaid window saying it cant play it !.Also I have downloaded Sonic
cine playerdvd decoder pack,as recomended by windows, but when I check it with
the windows xp video decoder check up utility, I get a statement that says
windows xp doesnt support Cine player.Have I wasted money buying it?

Don't know why the CinePlayer is not working but this one:
http://www.intervideo.com/products/custom/ms/windowsxp/media_pack.jsp
worked just fine for me.

I recently purchased and downloaded the Cineplayer DVD Decoder produced by
Roxio and could not playback a DVD, no matter what I tried- I kept getting an
unspecified Error Message from Microsoft. Naturally, neither Microsoft's nor
Roxio's Customer Service websites were of any help whatsoever. Then I noticed
Jerry's response to "kenm" above and decided to take a chance and order the
DVDXpack from Inter Video. Now, my DVD player is working perfectly. Perhaps
Cineplayer really is incompatible with Windows XP?

There have been quite a lot of posts recently about Cineplayer appearing to
do strange things, particularly with MCE PCs. I do have it installed on my
MCE (and since Roxio is installed on most of my PCs, probably on the others
too which either run XP Pro or x64 or 2003 64 bit) but haven't noticed any
oddities on any of them.... yet. I haven't started to use Roxio v9 because
of its incompatibilities with IE7. If I do, I'll investigate further.
