I cannot hear sounds through either my speakers or my headphones. When I check the sounds, it says I have no sound device. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I don't know why it stopped working or where my sound device went?
Thanks in advance for any help.

First thing to do is to try to reinstall your audio drivers. I had an older
notebook that kept 'losing' its audio device... I'd reinstall, reboot (as
requested) and still nothing, then I'd go into the Control Panel and
uninstall the software I'd just installed, half way through the uninstall it
would blue screen. On reboot, the audio was back and working.
You should be able to find the audio drivers at the website of the
motherboard manufacturer (if it's an onboard soundchip) or at the website of
the PC manufacturer or at the website of the soundcard manufacturer.
