When I start up I get message that reads microsoft office.lnk disabled. How
do I fix this problem?

Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Find the listing for
Microsoft Office, Click on change ( may ask you for the Office Disk), then
select Repair. This will start the setup program. It will then check all the
files installed for Office.

Criscar I tried it and it still is doing it. It did not ask for the cd
though. Is there anything else I can try?
