Quicktime codec

Hello

Where can I get a reliable quicktime codec so the windows media player can
play quicktime movies?

I did have the new quicktime player installed. I had it setup to play .mov
files only and the windows player to play avi, wmv, mpg..etc The quicktime
player kept miss behaving taking over the association of the mpg file. So I
un-installed quicktime.

It's not been written yet, presumably because Apple don't want it to be and
won't allow it. You can convert MOV files into various other formats so
that they can be played in WMP but if not converted, they are not going to
play.

YMMV..but I've had good luck
with the following free download:

QuickTime Alternative
www.free-codecs.com
(look under 'tools' in the left pane)

It plays the .mov files with Windows
Media Player 6.4...not the current
version.
