check whether you have properly installed you VGA drivers.
most of the times this happens due to .. when installing
WinXP it installs the defualt driver and in some cases
this may not be properly matching with your VGA card ...
and still XP is trying to perform on it ... so as a result
of this incompatible hardware and drivers performs becomes
LOW...
yea try reinstalling the VGA driver ... most probably this
might be the case...
