Hello,
I am using editing software, and in a effort to make my system more stable I
would like to turn off as many unecessary processes as possible. I would like
to do this by creating a new user profile that will only load the processes
that I need. This way if I do have a crash I dont have to remove them
manually again. How do I do this? Please help. Cheers...

Understand the services you turn off....1st...........
To do that, simply create new user, open xp in new, install youre software, set
up
as needed,go to run,type:services.msc In msc,turn off service,double click
service, select disable, move on to the next one, once thru, you might go to run
type:Msconfig In Msconfig, uncheck other services, close when thru or cancel
if none selected.Install xp cd,file transfer wizard, set as old
computer,select
settings,save FTW data in new folder,once its thru,move to cd.Restart pc,open
FTW from xp cd,install FTW settings.

I am using PowerDirector 5 which is a bit of a resource hog and
wondered if I could turn off unnecessary startup programs and processes
by making a "video" log on profile without having to change other
registry entries? ie NAV, firewall, IE, etc. Have 2Gb ram and XP MCE w'
P4 3Ghz CPU.
