For some weird reason, FlashPlayer 9 stopped working on one computer. It is
installed but does not show in the Currently Loaded Add-Ins any longer. But
it shows in the Loaded-Before view.

I am running Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 with all patches up to date.

I uninstalled and installed FlashPlayer 8 from my archive. Worked
perfectly - multimedia content as New York Times news videos would now start
and play as before.

Is there a way to stop the automatic download and install of version 9 or
any future versions of FlashPlayer?

Regards and thanks in advance.

Ask Adobe, they design and market FlashPlayer. www.adobe.com
