Hi,
How do you update windows messenger, the current version I have is 4.7
(4.7.3001) when you already have the Windows XP home edition version 2002
service pack 2.

Greetings,
What are you trying to update to? There is a Windows Messenger 5.1 it looks exactly
identical to what you're using now, and really only adds functionality for the corporate
space.
The consumer version of Messenger has moved to Windows Live Messenger, which isn't an upgrade
from Windows Messenger but a completely different version. You do use the same sign in
credentials to log in though, and you'll have your same contact list.
You can get Windows Live Messenger here:

live which i am more used to.When i try to install windows live 8 it comes up
with this message under this heading c:\documents and

Windows cannot access the specified device path or file.you may not have the

Hi Jonathan,
As i said, I've already tried the standalones (including your version), but
while the installer is loading, it simply stops all of a sudden and no action
proceeds after that.
Ever seen that happening?
Thanks!
