My Disk Cleanup utility now hangs. My machine was
recently infected with the DUMARU@MM virus-which I was
eventually able to remove via McAfee's "Stinger" program.
I noticed that all of the infected files were in the
Temporary Internet Files folder. I followed the
troubleshooting instructions in Microsoft Knowledge Base
article 823303: The Disk Cleanup Tool Stops Responding
(due to corrupted temporary files on the computer), but
the problem remains. Can anyone suggest a fix? Thanks.

Thanks for your suggeston. However, I looked around that
website, but did not find any fix that pertained to my
specific problem with Disk Cleanup(they have a fix for
Disk Cleanup problems with compressing old files--but
that's not my problem...).
