CRC Errer "Corrupt Cabinet File"

When ever I install a program from a CD no matter what
program I always get this error at random points "CRC
Errer "Corrupt Cabinet File"" Thats around what it says
sometimes its different but all the error messages I get
are basically what that says. I use Windows XP Pro and I
havnt been able to install anything from a cd-rom yet...
what do I do?

Be sure the cable to the CD is securely seated at both ends.

It could be the cable itself or a defective CD drive.
