View Full Version : [Problem] Newly Added Contacts Remain Offline
:(
October 14th 06, 04:20 AM
Dear readers and MS staffs,
Last night, I added a person on my windows messenger 8 and as always the
contact goes into the offline list and than a pop-up saying that the contact
has signed-in, but this time the contact remains in offline even I was
chatting with the person (in a group), but that person added me and can see
my status.
I test with another roomate, by deleting his contact and try to add it, but
it still in the offline list.
The only way to chat with them is if they start the conversation or I have
to use msn web messenger or msn messenger 7.5.
I know there is a big issue laterly with (partialy or totaly) empty contact
list, but i wasn't affected by this problem, so it is a server problem with
contact list laterly?

Is the other user set to appear offline?
In this way they can talk to you but you can't see them as being online.

I can see the status of previously added users (with msn messenger) correctly.
But now, i try to add someone with msn messenger (on a different computer,
which i can see them with msn messenger) and then login on windows live
messenger and these newly added contact still remain offline.

Apparently uninstalling the problem and delete registery values of
MSNMESSENGER works for this problem also.
