I have tried to uninstall messenger as suguested in this group but still
cannot get rid of it. Is there a manual way of doing this. Thanks gary

The way to uninstall wwindows messenger is go into add and remove,then
go into add-remove windows components and then uncheck the windows
messenger box,click next and it will go away

Hi,
That doesn't uninstall it, that simply hides the icon.

Thanks I didnt know of that way now I can do mine too.
