Invalid boot.ini.file

When my computer boots up I get a message (invalid
boot.ini.file). I got #330184 from msn knowledge base.
This gives instructions for resolving this:::::
I folowed instructions butWindows don't come up per
instr.
Welcome to setup does not come up. I get a screen that
has no place to type in bootcfg/list so I have to exit to
be able to do anything. If anybody can help I THANK YOU

You have to have the Windows XP CD in the CD drive before you boot.

If it still doesn't come up check your computer's documentation for
instructions about how to set your BIOS so the CD drive is checked before
the disk drive when you boot.
