After windows automatically upgrades my files I have
numerous files in my add and remove section. Can I safely
remove them.

If you mean that there are a number of "Hotfixes" listed in the Add and
Remove control panel section, then you don't want to remove them because
that removes the hotfix itself (and then Windows Update will just reinstall
it again later). Is that what you are referring to?
