Messenger and receiving sent files

I have recieved succesfully photo's and word docs using messenger but, my
problem is trying to recieve sound clips, messenger downloads them but then i
get a message saying the type of file you are receiving maybe harmful and
then my puter just will not allow me access to them, I was ok on messenger
7.5 but am having this problem since I installed the new live messenger can
anyone help me sort this out? I have checked my anti virus and firewall they
seem to be ok, what am I doing wrong?

Greetings Robby,

Just click the Tools menu (or press Alt-T if the menu is hidden), then Options, then File
Transfer category and uncheck 'Automatically reject file transfers for known unsafe file
types'.

If you're still having difficulty, download and run the following .reg file and then reboot:

Thank you for your speedy reply, the reject box was unchecked when i looked
at it so I have Downloaded and Run the .reg file you so kindly included in
your reply, I will not have time until later on this weekend to try and
receive more files, but hopefully your cure will work. Thank you again for
your time and assistance, here's hoping iy works.
