Hiya,
I have an issue regarding slow browser responses on WinXP
Pro machines. Browsers include MSIE 6.1 and Netscape 7.1.
With WinXP the response is very very abysmally slow at
times (60+ seconds to load a webpage, or hangs and never
loads, including on sites such as this one) and at others
it seems just a little slow (10-15 seconds to load a non-
graphic-heavy webpage). These are webpages and web
applications both on an intranet and on the internet,
both with my work computers and my home computers.
I've tried on different machines and get the same
responses from Pentium 4 CPU w/ 1.80 GHz, 1.19 GHz, 504
MB RAM PCs as I do from Pentium II, 349 MHz, 320 MB RAM
PCs. The same web applications and webpages respond fine
with the WinNT and Win2000 PCs I've tried.
The XP firewall is not enabled on any of these machines,
and as far as I can tell the browser security settings
are comparable.
Any ideas?
