E-Mail Notifications

My e-mail notfications on the Welcome screen does not match or update to the
actual number of new messages that are in my Inbox(MSN Hotmail). How can I
fix this???

Use TweakUI and clear the Unread Mail count.

The next time you log in, the count will be re-computed. It should re-count
all unread mail (not sure about Hotmail).

TweakUI can reset the email count for on the Welcome Screen

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP (for Windows XP SP1 or higher)

If Windows XP does not have any service packs installed then visit Ramesh's
website to obtain Tweak UI for Windows XP with no Service Packs.

Within TweakUI go to "Repair" > in the drop down list select "Repair unread
mail count".

Use the manual method from the KB article to reset the Email Count on the
Welcome Screen..
