I tried everything following instructions, but I could only start on safe
mode. It also tells me that in order for me to start on a earlier date I must
reboot. I don't know how to.

You need to tell us what instructions you are following.

Are you using System Restore after you boot into Safe Mode?

I have been using system restore after I boot in safe mode. I go back to the
date I brought back my computer. I noticed, and this was yesterday, that I
downloaded the new version of "internet .7?", not sure of what happened after
that. I shut down computer completely. This morning it didn't want to start.
I tried following directions thru help and support but I can't seem to get it
right, well, I have to admit that I'm a "computer dummy".lol. But I would
really appreciate your help!
Thanks.

You need to Restire to a time prior to installing IE 7, then reboot into
normally (normal mode).

Something else you might try.. use Add/Remove Programs to remove IE7 in
Safe Mode, then restart.

"Reboot" means to restart the computer. Click Start, Shut Down, etc..
