I used movie maker to capture video from my mini DV camcorder. The audio in
the camcorder was 16 bit 48kHz. After capture using the DV-AVI setting, the
audio captured now showed up as 12 bit 32 kHz. Did the audio get compressed?
Is it possible to maintain 16 bit after the capture? Thanks...

Try capturing with WM encoder 9 series, get the utilities also. Also, you can
run audio/video files thru the encoder as many times as needed to clean up.

Encoder 9 works great. It took a long time to encode a 2+ minute clip but
the quality was great. Tried encoding with lesser quality settings. It still
looked pretty good and used less HD space. Will explore this more.
