I recorded some video onto a JVC camcorder and am now trying to put it on the
computer. I've tried to import it through Windows Media Center but it is not
recognizing the video. Is there a way to transfer these videos onto my
computer?

Is this an analog camcorder or a digital camcorder?

If it's a digital camcorder, you generally use firewire and capture through
Windows Movie Maker. If it's an analog camcorder, sometimes Windows Movie
Maker will play nice, sometimes it won't. The answer then is to use a third
party application.
