windows updates

selected updates download but them never install. Self
help says to run Updates from the start menu. When this
is done the box that requests you accept the license
agreement does not have an accept box and you can not
proceed. Microsoft support refers me to Dell as it came
installed on the system and Dell says it's Microsoft's
problem. Virus protection and firewall is not causing
any interference. Any ideas?
