Help!
(I tried to post this earlier, but I can't find it on the
newsgroup for some reason, so I'm trying again.)
My win XP seems to be doing something I have no clue
about. For no apparent reason, the CPU suddenly gets
eaten up (100% or close) and I can no longer run (or even
start) most programs. This includes such things as
opening the task manager; I just get an error message when
I try ctrl-alt-del! This is not an old system, Pentium 3,
has plenty of RAM and hard disk space, the processes that
are eating up the CPU aren't always the same (dumprep
comes up a lot).
I have never had this problem with any other system or
version of Windows! What can I do?
