Windows Live Messenger using up 100% of my CPU

Hey,
Evertime I install Windows Live Messenger, it uses up all my CPU, and makes
my computer go slow.
I have 1 Gig Ram, Windows XP Proffesional, using AOL Broadband NEtgear DSL
Router (WG11T).
