when I play back my captured movie, full screen on the computer of tv, the
quality sucks,, its al squares?

It sounds like the original source was of low quality. From what did you
capture your movie and how?

Sony Digital 8, at 16 bit? i don't know if it will record at any other but rate

no, i only have an s video, and a usb port, is there an adapter to go from s
video to this ieee plug?

You'll have to check your documentation.

Some computers have the FireWire port
and some do not...camcorders are the
same...some with some without.

FWIW there are PCI cards that can add
FireWire to your computer:
http://www.usbfirewire.com/Parts/rr-fw-pci-4cbo.html

Anyway...if you do have FireWire you should
have better luck with your downloads.

Also check the settings in your camcorder and
maybe you can choose a higher resolution
format for your videos.
