I am using operating system XP Professional 2002 service
pack 1
IE will communicate to most sights but not all.
It might be sights that require certificates or that look
at the version of IE.
For example: http://Bank of America.com/logon/
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
http://support.microsoft.com/library/images/support/1ptran
s.gif
They just hang with no response or time out.
When I use Help / about Internet Explorer the splash
panel looks like version 6.0, but the "Version:, Cipher
strength: and Product ID: " are all blank.
When I try to install Microsoft Internet Explorer 6
Service Pack 1, I get Newer version found cannot proceed.
How can I remove and reinstall Internet explorer?
