When I try to use the search function, either throught the start menu or
through a menu interface, the resulting window(s) come up completely blank.

I tried to install Srchasst.inf, and things seemed to go just fine except
that I still have no search functions.

Maybe I just need to restart. I'll try that right now, and brb.

Hi Coach,

If restarting does not help, give these commands a go:

Click Start, Run and type:

regsvr32 %Windir%\srchasst\srchui.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 /i urlmon.dll

You can also revert to Windows Classic search to workaround the problem.
