Hello! If I should post this in another newsgroup, please
advise.

Stop: 0x0000006b

XP Home SP1 (clean install format, not upgrade
Raid0-drives 9 months old. Highpoint RAID card.

I can't find much on this error, except relating to
Win2K, during a setup/install.

I can access files & folders on the original C: install
(from second inscance of XP), so the FAT32 table is still
there. I can see if any info is available in any log
file on C: drive, upon request.

I had installed a second instance of XP on another
partition of the array a couple of months ago. (had to
manually restore Registry of original install-MSKB
307545. Hardware or software problem between chair and
keyboard. ;>)

When booting,I always get a boot screen to select which
OS I want to load. I still do now. However no F8 option
tried will get any other response, except the BSOD and
error message in title of this post, when trying to load
the original version.

While playing Unreal Tournament 2003, the computer just
rebooted, and wouldn't start. I later found that the
main .ini file for that game has disappeared.

I tried running chkdsk/r from "DOS" Repair disc. This did
help me get into the second instance of XP, but not the
original.

The first time I tried chkdsk, I got a Stop: C0000007b
Unknown Hard Error, which hasn't been duplicated since.
The RAID card is supposed to give warnings, if the drives
are bad.

I tried using dskprobe.exe to recover backup copy of the
MBR for the C: drive. This made the whole drive array
unbootable/unreadable. Using fixboot.exe from "DOS"
allowed access to second XP install. It didn't fix the
original instance. I haven't tried using fixmbr.exe from
same module. Don't know if it will work, is the same
function as dskprobe.exe, or will make things worse.

The odd part, is that both installs still show in boot
screen. They also show in Repair DOS mode, and asks to
select which one I want to work on/in C: or G:).
However, when I try to use Setup module of XP disc, to do
a repair/install of XP (without overwriteing everything),
only the second G: install shows. ?!

I have run Virus Scan from both the second install of XP,
and also from an old drive that still has Win98SE loaded
on it. Current dats and virus patches installed.
However, I am not sure if it is checking the boot records
of all hard drives & partitions, especially the C: drive,
which now shows as a "System" drive, rather than a "Boot"
drive.

I did run Memtest86, and it shows one of my (brand new-2
months) memory sticks as being bad. Removed it.

If the memory stick is bad, could that have corrupted
something like this? I would still like to fix the
problem, and/or determine if I am still going to have
problems with my second install. If i am "running on the
edge" of disaster, I would like to fix it.

Thanks!
