View Full Version : Problem in connectivity with ISP

Very frequently, I can send and receive email - but not connect to the
Internet with either Internet Explorer or Firefox. I uninstalled my
NIC protocols (except for Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and reinstalled
them. I was not given the options to remove Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP) and thought that was strange. I changed channels on my router
- same problem. I tried a different NIC - same problem. Changed CAT
wires on my router - same problem. The really strange thing is that
my other PC (on the router) works fine.

Locate and try running "Winsockxpfix.exe". This is a tool which should reset
the TCP/IP protocol stack back to Microsoft's original settings.

If you change channels on your router, are you using a wireless NIC? Have you
checked for antenna orientation? Have you considered changing the antenna for
a more powerful one? (more wireless routers/access point can have the antennas
changed. Check with the manufacturer.)

Have you updated the wireless NIC drivers?
