Has anyone encounted this error ? I was installing Norton Internet 2007 and
near the end of the install Norton said that a system file it needed for
install was locked and could not contunue. I then rebooted the computer and
got the window on the desktoop of exerouter.exe encountered a problem and
needs to close App ver 00087, Mod ver00087,ofsett 0003155b. Here is the
problem I cannot select send or dont send for the error report. The computer
is unusable do to this screen and nothing will open up, just countless error
windows. I have to shutdown the computer because no programs will open.
Please help with any ideas.

It appears that Norton has taken another hostage - Norton is awful
software, and I've seen it cause more damage than good.

In your case, it probably messed up your registry (which it is famous
for doing).

What OS are you running?
XP -
See if you can boot into safemode. If you can, then do a system
restore to a point before Norton made its appearance.
If you can't boot into safemode, then let me know.

Win 98 or ME
Boot into command prompt only, and at the dos screen type
"scanreg /restore" and pick a date that was before Norton
(make sure it says 'Started' next to it).

Don't know how to get into safemode or command prompt? Then see here:

Good luck!
