Inconsistency during verify

Starting September 3 I have been unable to complete
backing up my hard drive. During the Microsoft Backup
verify operation I get the message "An inconsistency was
encountered in the requested backup file." and the
operation is halted.

At the start of one day(I run Backup overnight)this week,
McAfee VirusScan alerted me to the presence of the
W32/Deborm.worm virus which I deleted and followed
McAfee's additional instructions to remove my Restore
points.

I scanned my hard drives(one hard drive with 2
partitions) with McAfee ViruScan updated on September 3
and nothing else was found.

I am still unable to complete the verify operation.
