This is my problem.
I purchased an e-Machine with Windows XP. After the
warranty period the had drive failed. The damage was such
that the repair company had to replace the CPU, mother
board, and modem. The restore CD which contains Windows Xp
will no longer load into my machine with all thes new
components.
I am presently running Windows 98 that came off my old
computer.
Is there any way I can reinstallwindows Xp without buying
The XP upgrade for about $100?

John, was the machine repaired under warranty? If yes, contact eMachines
for a new recovery CD or an alternative restore method.
