View Full Version : Dual Video Card Setup?

I have recently upgraded my machine and am looking to put together an old system for a friend out of spare parts. I have a machine which has onboard AGP graphics, ATI Rage Pro Turbo 8Mb (old school, baby!) The Mobo also has an AGP slot and I have an identical AGP card as the onboard solution. What I am wondering is; is it worth installing the 2nd card? Will there be any performance gain?

Thanks for looking

My guess is the AGP card would only be faster/better if it had more memory -
otherwise forget it.

[QUOTE=Jerry]My guess is the AGP card would only be faster/better if it had more memory -

The card is identical to the onboard, what I wanted to know is if they would work in tandem to provide better performance but I have been told that the onboard solution would have to be disabled for another card to work.

Apparently it's only the expensive solutions such as crossfire that will allow a tandem setup.

Thanks anyway
