Hi,
I had asked for help on 9/9 about my Taskbar and Start
Button not showing up at all on my Desktop in two of my
XP accounts. I had gotten a link as follows for a
downloadable fix:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
(go to line 117)
It seemed to be exactly what I needed, but it did not
work when I downloaded and installed it. Now the Taskbar
and Start Button is missing from ALL of my accounts in
XP. I actually would not mind fixing XP by reinstalling
it, but I don't have an XP disk because it came
preinstalled with my laptop. Can you please advise on
another solution?

Again, any help is appreciated.

Leon, thanks but I went to this particular article
first. Still no luck, which is why I was hoping there's
another fix. Any ideas?

If you press Ctrl+Esc do you get the Start menu?

If so, click Settings/Control Panel/Taskbar and Start Menu.

Be sure the "Auto-hide the taskbar" is not checked and that "Keep the
taskbar on top of other windows" is checked..

Sorry Leon,
I do not get the Start Menu when I hit Ctrl+Esc.
The Taskbar is now missing from all of my XP accounts
(they were missing on two accounts, now they're missing
on all three accounts).
Anything else to try?
Thanks,
Ken

Try the clean boot to determine if a driver is causing the problem:
