Color resolution

My computer has been working and all updates installed.
In the midst of a session on a secure web site my
computer crashed. I now only have 4 colors and cannot
change. I changed teh colors and resolution to what it
was in safe mode. It still will not revert to the desired
setting. The last time it started a ballon came up and
asked if I wanted to correct the resolution. I said yes.

NO Change. How can I correct this?

Check for vga driver files, alternatively reinstall your vga driver
