different motherboard manufacturers give different keys for entering into

If you want help, start by telling us why you can't boot from the
C? What happens when you try?

What does "or find my bios or anything" mean? If you don't know
how to get into your BIOS to change the boot sequence so you boot
from the CD first, read below:

How to get into your BIOS depends, not on Windows, but on what
motherboard/BIOS you have. One common way is to press the Del key
when you first power on, but that's not necessarily right for
your computer. Watch the screen carefully when you first boot;
there's often a message there telling you what to do. If not,
check your system documentation or check with your vendor.

If you want to boot and format the hard drive without using the CD you can
do it a couple of ways. First you can use a Win98 disk and then use fdisk
and delete the non dos partition then format or you can download the 6 XP
setup disks from M$ and boot with them and just follow the prompt. Another
way is to boot with a 98 floppy again which has CD rom support and
smartdrive on it. When you boot tree over to the XP cd and go to the i386
dir and run "winnt.exe" which is the dos installer for XP, here just follow
the prompts also.
