DVD will not play I get sound but no picture

1280x1024Hi,
I recently upgraded my monitor to a Sony with a picture resolution of
1280x1024

Since then commercial DVDs will not play. I get sound but no picture. I
reverted to WMP10 from 11 but it made no difference. I tried Intervideo and
get an error maessage telling me to reduce the screen resolutionto 800x600
and/or the colour quality. I have done both but there isn't any change -
still no picture.

Anyone got a solution please?
