I am useing Windows XP home, on a Compaq Preserio 6010US. Recently it has not
wanted to boot windows. It hangs on the Compaq window. It has eventually
loaded after turning off and on several times, so have not restarted it for
the past week or so. I was noseing around in the error log today and found
this error:
Source.......Service Control Manager
Error..........Event ID 7026
The following boot start or system start drivers failed to load : i8042prt.
This error started according to the log on the 10/24/2006 and there are 400+
entries after that. I have also noticed something really draining my memory
also.

Is there a way this can be fixed without reinstalling Windows?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks alot.......
