Hi.
I have several shared folders on a Windows XP Pro SP2 machine. Files in
a folder when it is first shared get the right permissions and are
accessible via the guest account remotely, but anything copied in to
the directories does not inherit the permissions. Un-sharing and
re-sharing the directory fixes things.
Any ideas? It used to work, files I copied into the folders were shared
properly with the correct permissions, but now it's stopped. I have a
feeling it might have been because of a registry permissions issue.
Microsoft told me to change permissions on some entries just before the
problem started, which made the machine unusable (thanks MS support,
good to know it was worth while buying a boxed XP Pro). I changed
things back but now...
