I have a Sony PCG-K23 laptop Pentium 4 with 512 MB ram, that has had it's
hard drive go bad. The HD in it was a Hitachi Travelstar 60 GB ATA.

I bought a new Western Digital hard drive: WD Scorpio 60 GB EIDE.

Are there any differences between an EIDE and ATA?

Upon loading XP from my disc I notice it says there is only 41 GB or so and
then asks for a partition. When I try to partition, nothing is partitioned.

Please help.
