i have been having trouble logging of of one user. i close all programs >
start > log off and then it takes forever for the desktop icons to disappear,
then the wallpaper is visably for a while then the screen goes blank. And
stays that way. I have to do a hard shut down. I have checked and unchecked
programs in the msconfig. DELL COMPUTER has come to the conclusion that my
operating system needs to be repaired. Everything else seems to work well
and i do not have this problem logging off of the second user on the system.
Any advice will be appreicated. thanks.

Try creating a new user account for the problem user and when that is
working okay you can delete the problem account.

Make sure you copy the user's documents etc to the new account or at
least save these when the account is deleted.

Good luck
