Fond Greetings to all.

I am running XP home. I have recently upgraded to IE7. Since then, each time
I start my system I am greeted with the following message; X The procedure
entry point Get Process Image File Name W could not be located in the
dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL.
What does this mean and what should I do about it?
I have also noticed that since the upgrade I am logging on to websites that
quickly become non-responsive and/or my computer tells me that I am not
connected to the internet when I know that I am. Is this anything to do with
the above message?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards MW.

Hi Sychman,

That error message may be due to a program or programs (currently identified
"culprits" include Motive SmartBridge, Hal Screen Reader and Supernova
Reader Magnifier by Dolphin) that ship with an older version of PSAPI.DLL

Navigate to the installation location for SmartBridge (\Program
Files\Verizon...\Smart...), Dolphin Hal Screen Reader or Supernova Reader
Magnifier, locate PSAPI.DLL in the installation location and rename it to
something else, such as PSAPIOLD.DLL
Do NOT rename the PSAPI.DLL file in the Windows\System32 folder
Restart the computer
The program will find the new PSAPI.DLL in the \Windows\System32 directory
and function normally.

TYVM Patti Macleod.

That seems to have done the trick!

The culprit was Motive SmartBridge (blueyonder)

Hopefully everything will be Okay now.

Cheers. Sychman
