Movie Maker and Adobe Premiere AVI problem

I have a dvi (avi) movie created in Movie Maker 2 but when I try to import
it into Premiere the sound will play and the clip length is correct but the
frames do not run. It seems stuck on the last frame

Any ideas

There's a slight possibility that renaming
the file from xxxx.avi to xxxx.mpg might help.
