Uploading video

I have a Panasonic PV-GS9 DV camcorder. I received software from the company
to upload to a computer but it only allows me to upload still images. When I
hook it to the computer it comes up as USB video device but I am unable to
get any video off of it onto the computer. Is there anyway to get around
this so I am able to edit video and use as a webcam?

The easiest way is to use a firewire connection.
