I recently did a security update and media player update to 10 and now no
video plays. I get audio, but no video. I ran the video decoder check from
MSN and it says none of the things I have are compatible decoder for MP (I
have Nero, Roxio), and I get to pay 20$ to buy some decoder so I can get
video. Why doesn't MSN offer that as a download? These videos used to play
on WMP, before I did my updates, if I go back to WM 9, will it work again or
is it programmed now to not do it regardless? How about if I system restore?
I like WMP over my Nero player because my Nero player isn't playing videos
as smooth as WMP was. It chops up the sound and not a smooth picture, more a
series of stills. I've been dealing with them about that, but they say it's
hardware now. So my processor can't handle running Nero, but wil play them
OK on WMP, if I can get that going again. Please advise what is best to do.
If the $20 decoder will for sure work, then OK. But if it doesn't work, can
we get our money back?
