Is windows video editing program compatible with Flash 8 in that you can
download a edited video file (.avi) into Flash 8 thereby creating a video
that can be viewed on the web?

That does not answer my question Cari. I want to go to FLV from Microsoft
Movie Maker if that is possible. I am quite sure that it is possible but I
was hoping to find someone who had done it and can help me shortcut my
learning curve with a specific "go here, do this, go there, do that" set of
hints.

Congratulations on your web site. I hope to be putting one up soon that does
some super video uploads and downloads.

Cari, I did take a look at Super and I have to apologize for being a bit
turned off at your answer. That reference to Super was "super". What a web
site and what resources. I still want to know how others download, edit and
render digital video in Microsoft Video Maker and then drop that into Flash
8s video encoder for display on the web. MS may not suggest that path but
that is not the issue.

I think the most commonly used program is probably Swish because of its
price (www.swishzone.com) or Riva (www.rivavx.com).... but there is no
Microsoft application at present for conversion into SWF or FLV formats.
