i have many movies in .avi format and i want to convert them into vcd's.i've
tried nero 6.0 and 7.0 but after the avi file gets encoded the output comes
up to 728mb which doesnt fit into 1 cd-R.
i've tried some converters too but with them the file goes up to 750mb or
sometimes 800mb.
Please tell me what to do..any advice will help

Maybe it would be worth a try to import
the .avi files into Movie Maker and save
them in the .wmv format.

If you have NeroVision Express...it is
supposed to be compatible with .wmv.

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next / Next.
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

While burning and encoding Video CDs don't bother about File Size. File Size
doesn't matter for Audio and Video CDs. What matter is their time length. A
CD has 2 kind of capacity. Size and Time Length. So while burning Data / MP3
CDs, you should consider the size and while burning Audio / Video CDs just
consider the time length. Play your Video file and note down the time. If it
is under or equal to 80 Mins then you can successfully burn it.

I have many video files which are larger than 800MB but I can successfully
burn them because they are under 80 mins.

In Nero Express or Nero Burning ROM, burn your encoded file using Video /
Picture CD command not Data CD. It will not let you burn this using Data CD
command because of size limitation.

Just give it a try and let us know!
