View Full Version : Double-click doesn't open icons any more

Double-click on any desktop icon no longer opens it.

- Right-click DOES present the menu and I can OPEN it
that way.
- Mouse tests ok and is working properly.
- Double-click DOES open the file when I'm in a "My
Computer" window.

All was working fine but something bit my computer this
morning. I had to remove/install virus software, my
MSOffice programs needed to touch the install discs again
(no problem), The Outlook desktop icon became an unnamed
folder, and other strangeness happened. I believe I've
fixed most, but I'm left with inability to double-click
desktop items to launch them!

Thoughts?

To use the Regedits: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
