Russ,
Thanks for the ideas -- however, I think I've had the
recommendation from others to install a 2nd HD and set it
as primary and install o/s on that. Not at ALL what I
want to do.

NO I did not get a request for a PW on install, or to set
to a domain. Yes I'm on broadband connect and my
computer is connected to a home network.

Also, I was not prompted to create a PW startup disk.

*sigh*

I've seen at another Tech site that I could start up my
XP w/a win 2000 CD and do a Recovery/repair option with
it, which will allow me to get in to accounts and change,
delete user info, including PW. I may go that route if I
can't get anything else to work -- as one more last ditch
effort.
