Hello,
Thanks in advance.
I just hooked up a external Dell LCD monitor to my Dell Inspiron 6000 in an
attempt to have 2 monitors to run seperate programs on (outlook on monitor 2,
and surf on monitor 1). I believe my 6000 is equipted for 2 monitors because
when I set it up through settings it shows 2 different monitors. The 6000 is
operating fine but monitor 2 is only showing my desktop with no icons. When
I drag an icon to monitor 2 and try to open it it only opens on monitor 1.
Maybe I didnt set it up right? Im not too tech saavy but doing the best I
can so any help would be appreciated.

Hey Gobucks06:

Everything is working correctly on your computer. Dragging an icon to the
second monitor won't cause it to open on that monitor. Try this instead:

After you open the application, drag the window (click on the Title Bar and
drag) to your second monitor. When you've got it positioned where you want,
release the mouse button.

Make sure your application isn't maximized (remember the three buttons on
the upper right corner of your window?), otherwise you won't be able to drag
the window.

Good luck!
