When I play a .wmv file in WMP 11 it only plays the sound and no video. I
have tried a roll-back to WMP 10 but it was the same. I reinstalled WMP 11
still the same. Any ideas?
Phil.

If you reduce your Graphics Hardware Acceleration
as per the instructions in the following article and
realize an improvement, it's an indication that you
need to update your video driver:

Thanks John, I never thought of trying the HW acceleration. After a couple of
clicks down from the top it started working but stopped if I went up again. I
installed the December u****ue of DirectX, uninstalled and reinstalled the
ATI drivers, which were already the latest available, uninstalled and
reinstalled PowerDVD which was now exhibiting the same fault as WMPlayer,
then reinstalled WMP 11 and it all started working again. Incidently it was
all working ok before the upgrade to WMP11, but when I rolled back to 10 it
no longer worked there either. A bit odd??
BTW I also have Nero7 Premium installed and this continued to work normally
even though WMP and PowerDVD had stopped showing video.
